Recently, 735 sets of new solar street lights have lit up the village roads, footpaths, and fitness squares in villages such as Annan Village, Xianfeng Village, Baidanshan Village, Shanhe Village, Chunguang Village, Jiaoshan Village, and Tuanjie Village, eliminating the "blind spots and dark areas" of lighting in each village for many years. The recently released "Wuxi City Urban Lighting Special Plan (2021-2035)" for the first time has specifically included village and town lighting in the plan, proposing to eliminate scattered blind spots in rural areas. In the future, more villages and towns will witness the new lighting style of new rural areas.
After years of construction, the coverage rate of street lights in villages and towns in our city has reached over 95%, but there are still a few areas with lighting blind spots. Previously, the coverage of street lights in villages and towns such as Annan Village, Xianfeng Village, and Baidanshan Village was relatively low, and each household could only rely on hanging a light outside their house to illuminate a small area at the entrance, making it very inconvenient for villagers to travel at night. After overall arrangement, the Anzhen Street Office in Xishan District and various villages under its jurisdiction have decided to install street lights for the "blind spots and dark areas" of rural lighting. More than 700 sets of new street lights have been installed in place like trees.
According to the construction company Wuxi Lighting Co., Ltd., this batch of solar street lights can save approximately 161000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year, equivalent to reducing 126 tons of carbon dioxide annually. According to the "Wuxi City Urban Lighting Special Plan (2021-2035)", our city will next carry out the rectification of blind spots and dark areas in lighting and energy-saving renovation. In the future, the construction and management of village and town lighting will move closer to urban lighting, creating a good nighttime lighting environment for villages and towns, and creating more "beautiful villages" that are equally attractive during the day and night.
